Natopus - Transition (1985 CD Rip, HQ!)

Hello! Sorry for neglecting this blog, however this new batch of posts will make up for it. A few months ago, I acquired the CD rip of Transition by Natopus (Jim Bertucci). This was always a favourite of mine, and the fact that the version we had before this was such poor quality was truly a let down. I had to do some hiss removal and EQ on the CD, but you'll find it sounds delightful. Finally hearing it in pristine quality was a dream come true. I hope you enjoy this lovely release. Made by Jim Bertucci, with help from Robert Slap. 12/8 - FIXED LINK

Natopus - Transition (New Link)

Valley Of the Sun Publishing's - Only Subliminals - Confidence & Positive Thinking (1990) FIXED LINK

This tape features excerpts taken from David Naegele's "Dreams of Atlantis", but also includes more music I have never heard before. It's worth a listen, it has subliminal messaging in it I assume- I haven't listened close enough yet.

Only Subliminals (This is the correct link)

UPDATED LIST AS OF 5/5/14 - WHAT I DO NOT YET HAVE (UPDATED 5/5/14)

*There are a few releases from Karl Schaffner, Daniel Berthiaume and others  that were not put on Valley of the Sun- despite that, I have them named here and still will post them when I get 'em (and when I discover new ones)

Robert Slap - Search For Utopia (1988)

Hey everyone, here it is. For a long time now, ever since I saw the cover art of this tape, I knew it was going to be amazing. And I guess I was right, because I'm really enjoying this release. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. My cat, Ricky, loves it as well, it calmed him down and he's sitting on me as I type, something he rarely ever does (He's a crazy cat type thing.) Anyway, here you go.

Enjoy the new age epic, Search for Utopia.

Steven Cooper - Angels Of The Sun (1988, Digital remaster from the Master Tapes)

Generously donated by Steven Cooper himself, here is a pristine copy of Angels Of The Sun, the only Steven Cooper album I did not yet have. It's another gem, too. Absolutely wonderful to listen to and it puts you into a serene trance.

Upper Astral- Manifestation (1981)

Another long-awaited Upper Astral Release, one from 1981.Sounds a bit different from their other releases, but it is still extremely relaxing and amazing. This now means that this blog has every known Upper Astral Release besides Higher-Self Rendezvous. I hope that Upper Astral has other tapes which have not been listed online yet, so we have more of this beautiful music to hear.

Daniel Berthiaume - The Sacred Fire, 1992 (Merry Christmas!)

Holiday Udate #2! This time, here is the 1992 release, The Sacred Fire, AKA Le Feu Sacre, by Canadian artist Daniel Berthiaume. This one is quite nice, heavy synth work here! Hope you enjoy it!

I took a look at Daniel Berthiaume's other works, too. It's nice, if I obtain any I may put them on my other blog.

Robin Miller- Celestial Bridge, 1988 (Merry Christmas!)

Got some CD's for christmas, consider this Holiday Update #1! Here's a great release from Robin Miller, "Celestial Bridge".  I'm really enjoying this one, and I hope you do as well. I got the CD version, released on Miller's own label, Miller Music Publishing in 2000. Original tape released in 1988

Robin Miller - Celestial Bridge

If you enjoy his music, please check out his web-site at http://www.robinmillermusic.com. Happy Holidays, New age fans!

"Celestial music has the power to create a bridge connecting our world and our consciousness to higher spheres.  My purpose in this life is to utilize my talent to this end. As the music flows through me, my wish is for all who experience it to realize they are part of much grander design and are held in the love of spirit."
-Robin Miller

David Storrs - Sedona Sunrise (1985)

Another release from David Storrs! This time, rather than being progressive new age, this is true new age/ ambient. Enjoy, from 1985, Sedona Sunrise.
David Storrs - Sedona Sunrise (1985)

From press release: Inspired by the Sedona Arizona, energy vortexes. Imagine yourself at sunrise in the beautiful, high desert environment. Experience awakening in the vortex at sunrise; watch as the sun's first rays fall across the red rock canyon walls. Side 2 is "Night In The Vortex." A mystical wooden flute, a harp and ethereal voices merge.

Robert Slap- In The Caverns Of Your Mind (1984)

Another release from Robert Slap! It's pretty good.

Robert Slap- In The Caverns Of Your Mind

I'll try to get better quality pics later.

[from the insert] "High-energy New Age fusion msuic that is becoming very popular on the West Coast. Robert combines guitar and synthesizer sounds with percussion and the natural sounds of surf and wind, to generate a very exciting musical excursion in which you'll explore the limitless internal harmonies of your mind. The album is a collection of themes that will trigger internal responses, including chakra stimulationl (c) 1984 by Robert Slap. Engineer: Dan Hillard Catalogue number AM123. Stereo.

Upper Astral - Finding Your Soul Mate

A release I had no prior knowledge of until I was notified someone owned it. Nice to know that there may be  other Upper astral releases out there besides Higher Self-Rendezvous that we don't have up on here.
Finding Your Soul Mate

Special thanks to Joseph for ripping this! Cover art will be added in the future.

INFO: I just discovered that David Naegele helped produce the "Skybirds" album. This could mean that he is one of the musicians in Upper Astral, as Upper Astral is a group of artists.

Steven Cooper- Crystal Garden

Long-awaited release is now here! Steven Cooper- Crystal Garden

Great release from Cooper. Nice little release with birds and all sorts of stuff. Listened to it while reading in my backyard. Amazing.

Natopus- Transition

Robert Slap and Steve Powell- Drive (1990)

Drive (1990)
This release isn't like any other releases from Valley of The Sun. This isn't as much of a new age release as it is a synthpop-esque instrumental album. It's a fine album.

Fun fact: Robert Slap is credited as "Bobby Slap" in this release. That makes me laugh but I don't know why.

Valley Of The Sun Publishing's Hypnagogic Sound/Vibration Tape

Hypnagogic Sound/Vibration Tape, 1982

This is a very odd release. Apparently from some people online who have heard it say it's helpful to them but I just don't get this one. It's more of noise than music, but it's quite a trip. Enjoy.

Unknown Artist- Aquamarine

Aquamarine

This release is sort of elusive. It has no listed artist, and is a release Valley of The Sun did partnered with the Great American Audio Corp, a company which has long since disappeared from time. I found some info from it on a youtube video, and the inlay card says:
"Aquamarine.
Musical sounds of relaxation.
Indescribably beautiful, incredibly calming, magical in their ability to inspire, balance and harmonize the listener, these are the soothing sounds of relaxation."

From the research I did online, it appears to have been released in May of 1989. There was no more info on it
besides its ISBN, which is 978-1-55569-296-4. My assumption is that this music was created by Robert Slap, since it is very much in his style. Aquamarine was the first Valley of the Sun music tape I ever heard, and it introduced me to this wonderful company. I decided to E-Mail the company myself to find more information on this elusive tape. Here is the response I got:

"That is indeed a very old title. The people who were responsible for creating that title have moved on from the company. I know that Bob Slap was the music director at the time and created a lot of the music used, so it was most likely him. It was another company that actually produced the titles, we just had a licensing agreement with them and carried their product for a while. Haven't seen those titles around in 20 years.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Jason D McKean
