Musical Sounds Of Relaxation - Celestial Whispers (1989)

Hello, new decade.

Well, I'm sorry for being way late on this one. I discovered this tape like early last year. It's another installment in Musical Sounds Of Relaxation that I had no idea even existed - It's called Celestial Whispers, and it's nothing we haven't  heard, mostly. Side A is an alternate version of Twilight Dawning from Nightwinds. It's much slower, with some added synths and sparkly sounds. Side B is just Crystal Cave - Back To Atlantis by Upper Astral, except without some of the harp overlays. I do kind of like the edits on side A, but it's nothing new.

Enjoy.

Various - New Age Sampler, Vol II (1986)

Another Valley Of The Sun sampler I had forgotten to upload. The best part about it (Besides the comfy album cover) is that we get to hear a snippet of "Transition" by Natopus in high quality. The only full copy we have of that is very poor and distorted. There are also appearances by David Storrs, Robert Slap, Steven Cooper and more.

Various - New Age Sampler, Vol I (1985)

Hello, I am long overdue uploading this here. I have had this (as well as volume II in this series) for over three years or so on my computer collecting dust. This is a sampler of tracks from various VOTS releases, mostly Upper Astral ones.

Dick Sutphen and Upper Astral - Ascent Of The Eagle (1988)

Hello, friends! Happy belated New Year. We still exist, and for further proof, besides the fact that I'm writing this, is a newly unearthed tape from 1988. Another joind release between Dick Sutphen and Upper Astral, which of course was made up of David Naegele, David Storrs (and later, Robert Slap). This tape features the Robert Slap incarnation, with Ascention To The All That Is playing in the background while Dick talks.

Dick Sutphen and Upper Astral - The Lighthouse (1984)

Sorry for the lack of updates, I have been very busy with college work.

I'm back with another guided meditation tape by Dick Sutphen with backing music by Upper Astral. The music in the background is from their 1983 release Entrance To The Secret Lagoon, which you can download here.

Info about "The Lighthouse":
"This tape is based on Psychosynthesis, a technique used by many psychiatrists to generate positive change. The symbol creates a new line of force in your psyche and can change inner attitudes and outer behavior. Produced with soothing New Age music. Instructions: Lie down and sit comfortably, close your eyes and breathe deeply for 3 minutes. Tun on tape. Dick will direct you through a complete body relaxation, then ask you to vividly fantasize the situation he is describing. Make it real. Perceive anything. You'll be counted up at the end of the tape. For maximum self-change results, use the tape several times a week. Also, during the day, quickly fantasize the symbol on your own when you have an opportunity."

Dick Sutphen & Upper Astral - Mansion of Beauty (1988)

Here's another great Effort from Upper Astral and Dick Sutphen with guided meditation.
The Upper Astral tracks that he speaks over are from the Nightwinds tape which you can find on this blog.

Dick Sutphen - 3 Altered-State Experiments (2000)

Altered-State hypnosis/meditation tape by Dick Sutphen, features music from David Naegele's Journey out of the body on track 1, Upper Astral's Crystal Cave: Return To Atlantis on track 2, and unknown music on track 3. Truth be told I haven't tried using these for meditation or anything yet but I plan to.

Dick Sutphen and Upper Astral - Soulmates (1985)

This tape has one of the same instrumentals from the "Finding your soulmate" tape I uploaded a while back, and this tape also has a meditation/soulmate finding program by Dick Sutphen on it- This includes some music by Upper Astral not heard on the other Soulmate tape.

Upper Astral - Higher Self Rendezvous (1983)

It's actually the same as the music played in the Soulmates tape, but in case there are any slight differences  in quality or anything I am uploading it here too.

Dick Sutphen & Upper Astral- Emergence Into The Light (1984)

Today, I have another guided meditation tape, accompanied with music from Upper astral, music which I believe are tracks from "Finding Your Soul Mate" and "Journey To The Edge Of The Universe".

Speaking of Finding Your Soul Mate, David Storrs informed me that the "Finding Your Soulmate" tape I have up here is actually one in a series of tapes, which means there is more out there!

Emergence Into The Light

Celestial Odysseys- Galactic Odyssey (1981))

Celestial Odysseys is essentially Upper Astral (David Storrs and David Naegele) under another name. This was released in 1981, A really nice release if I do say so myself. A little more progressive than the other works, but this release is relaxing nonetheless. Enjoy!

Galactic Odyssey

REMASTER- Upper Astral- Finding Your Soul Mate (198?)

The files from this elusive tape were sent to me in only subpar quality, so I felt I should take charge to increase the listening experience. I recommend listening to it with headphones on for a better feel of the music. Hope you enjoy the remaster I did...

Upper Astral- Finding Your Soulmate (Remastered)

Upper Astral- Manifestation (1981)

Another long-awaited Upper Astral Release, one from 1981.Sounds a bit different from their other releases, but it is still extremely relaxing and amazing. This now means that this blog has every known Upper Astral Release besides Higher-Self Rendezvous. I hope that Upper Astral has other tapes which have not been listed online yet, so we have more of this beautiful music to hear.

Dick Sutphen & Upper Astral- The Alchemist (1988)

Guided meditation tape, same program is on both sides with different music. Unfortunately, the music is kind of hard to hear.

Upper Astral - Finding Your Soul Mate

A release I had no prior knowledge of until I was notified someone owned it. Nice to know that there may be  other Upper astral releases out there besides Higher Self-Rendezvous that we don't have up on here.
Finding Your Soul Mate

Special thanks to Joseph for ripping this! Cover art will be added in the future.

INFO: I just discovered that David Naegele helped produce the "Skybirds" album. This could mean that he is one of the musicians in Upper Astral, as Upper Astral is a group of artists.

Upper Astral- Crystal Cave: Back To Atlantis

Upper Astral- Crystal Cave I had this one already but lost the audio. Here it is again.
I think there's one more known Upper Astral release I don't have.

Another Upper Astral release. Still looking for others.
