Karl Schaffner - Flying Carpet (1984)

Happy Cinco De Mayo! Today we have a great spacey electronic album from Karl Schaffner (With a hint of guitar and traditional instruments!) It is entitled "Flying Carpet" and it was released on Isis in '84/ It has some great tracks on it, such as the ethereal "Passage", the jovial "Sailing" and the guitar backed chilled out "Longitude", among many others. I certainly recommend a listen. Lothar Grimm helps out on this album, much like some of Karl's past works I have posted.

My computer is going through some problems so there are a couple albums I cannot upload here at the moment- but as soon as I have the ability to do so I will upload them.

Robert Slap - Search For Utopia (1988)

Hey everyone, here it is. For a long time now, ever since I saw the cover art of this tape, I knew it was going to be amazing. And I guess I was right, because I'm really enjoying this release. And I'm not the only one who thinks so. My cat, Ricky, loves it as well, it calmed him down and he's sitting on me as I type, something he rarely ever does (He's a crazy cat type thing.) Anyway, here you go.

Enjoy the new age epic, Search for Utopia.

Robert Slap - Atlantis: Healing Temple (1990)

I finally got my hands on an unfortunately 192kbps copy of Robert Slap's "Atlantis Healing Temple" from 1990, re-released on CD in 1991. The quality is listenable but if anyone has a 320 rip, that would be much preferred.  This album is great, though I think I like Atlantis Crystal Chamber a little more.

David Storrs - Sedona Sunrise (1985)

Another release from David Storrs! This time, rather than being progressive new age, this is true new age/ ambient. Enjoy, from 1985, Sedona Sunrise.
David Storrs - Sedona Sunrise (1985)

From press release: Inspired by the Sedona Arizona, energy vortexes. Imagine yourself at sunrise in the beautiful, high desert environment. Experience awakening in the vortex at sunrise; watch as the sun's first rays fall across the red rock canyon walls. Side 2 is "Night In The Vortex." A mystical wooden flute, a harp and ethereal voices merge.

Robert Slap- In The Caverns Of Your Mind (1984)

Another release from Robert Slap! It's pretty good.

Robert Slap- In The Caverns Of Your Mind

I'll try to get better quality pics later.

[from the insert] "High-energy New Age fusion msuic that is becoming very popular on the West Coast. Robert combines guitar and synthesizer sounds with percussion and the natural sounds of surf and wind, to generate a very exciting musical excursion in which you'll explore the limitless internal harmonies of your mind. The album is a collection of themes that will trigger internal responses, including chakra stimulationl (c) 1984 by Robert Slap. Engineer: Dan Hillard Catalogue number AM123. Stereo.

Robert Slap- Oriental Garden (Musical Sounds of Relaxation)

Discovered another Musical Sounds of Relaxation tape I have never heard of before. Briefly listened to it, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It's called Oriental Garden.

Oriental Gardens

Some of the music from this tape was later released as "Oriental Gardens" on a 4 CD set, called "The Ultimate New Age Collection,"  distributed by Distributions Madacy, Inc. in 1994. They have some other New Age releases, which I am to assume are all Robert Slap. Such titles as "I am The Sea", which I think might be "You Are The Sea," and "Winterscapes" might be "Snow Dreams".

Karl Schaffner- White Dove (1993)

Currently my favorite Karl Schaffner release. Amazing piece, roughly an hour long.

UPDATE! Robert Slap-Tranquillities (Musical Sounds Of Relaxation)

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?xnmu7ywl16m7rch Turns out, that this, along with AQUAMARINE, is part of an entire series done by Valley of the Sun/Great American Audio Corp. I got info about this before upon emailing Valley Of The Sun, but wasn't sure if they meant the Musical Sounds of Relaxation series, or just their normal new age releases. Well, there are quite a few of these out there. I'll list them in a next post, but here are the covers and stuff for "Tranquilities"

Steven Cooper- Key West Afternoon

Steven Cooper- Key West Afternoon

This one is a bit different sounding than the other Valley of The Sun releases, (some percussion is on this tape) and it's certainly good, plus the title its self makes me feel good. Makes me want to relax...
